Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility Criteria
All fields in Illinois are eligible to participate if soybeans are included in the rotation. The farmer/producer must submit the ISA Grower Agreement AND use the STAR Tool to get a STAR Rating on the fields listed in the Grower Agreement. STAR provides each field a confidential rating of 1 to 5 STARs. Until 200 acre cap is reached, producers receive payment for:
1. Receiving and maintaining a 5-STAR Rating (the highest rating) OR
2. Demonstrating improvement in initial STAR rating over two years
3. A bonus payment is paid either year for a new participant
Important Dates
October 15 (2026): Enrollment opens.
December 31: Enrollment closes & Grower Agreement due
January -February (2027): STAR Verification takes place.
February: Year 1 (Crop Year 2026) payments distributed
June 1: Crop Year 2027 enrollment opens
July 1: Year 2 Enrollment closes
July 2: STAR Verification begins
August: Year 2 verification done and payments distributed
